Do I Like One Child More than the Other?

This morning was a quiet morning. Which isn’t normally how it goes, is it?

Usually we’re all rushing around making breakfast, getting dressed, and bribing the children to eat. We’re drinking cold coffee in a feeble attempt to not feel like we only got the little sleep that we did the night before. One child on one hip, another one cries because they don’t like the shirt they picked out the night before.

Chaos.

When we get pregnant, or even before, a lot of us have this idea of what our labor and delivery will look like. At least, I know I did. It probably includes calming music, a supportive spouse, deep breathing, pain under control by yourself or an epidural (thank you, modern day medicine), a few pushes and a beautiful baby is born.

Sometimes it goes exactly like we want. Other times, it doesn’t.

Breastfeeding. It’s a topic that every mother seems to have an opinion on, and is eager to share their opinions with one another. A topic that can turn happy, calm mommy groups into raging, throwing punches left and right angry mom wars. Where the sanctimommies come out of the wood works eager to tell you why your opinion on the subject is wrong, and theirs is right. *insert eye roll*
